Waterloo
The City of Waterloo is the smallest of the three cities within the Region covering just over 64 square kilometers. Waterloo Fire Rescue Headquarters is located at Station 2 on Columbia Street West and is home to the fire prevention, the public education, and the administration for the department’s 120 full-time firefighters.
Waterloo Fire Rescue’s Suppression Division serves the city’s recorded population of 110,000. This number, however, does not reflect the nearly 40,000 students attending the city’s two universities who are considered temporary residents.
Waterloo Fire Rescue’s stations and apparatus include:
Station 1 (Weber St.): Car 23 (Platoon Chief), Pump 1, Aerial 1, HAZMAT, Training 1, Service 1
Station 2 (Headquarters): Pump 2, Pump 12
Station 3 (Northfield Dr.): Pump 3, Tank 1
Station 4 (University Ave.): Pump 4
