The Region of Waterloo is located in the heart of Southwestern Ontario and consists of the cities of Cambridge, Kitchener, and Waterloo as well as the townships of North Dumfries, Wellesley, Wilmot, and Woolwich. A population of approximately 500,000 live within the Region’s 1369 square kilometers - a population which fluctuates as a result of the large proportion of students attending the Region’s two universities and community college.
While the police and EMS services have been amalgamated throughout the Region, the fire services remain city and township based. As a result, there are three city departments and four volunteer township fire departments. This website is dedicated to their work.
